TravelWise - Merseyside's campaign to help people make sustainable transport choices - is inviting residents to make a pledge to 'Change One Journey' during Merseyside TravelWise Week 2011 (18 - 25 September).
Every day 4 million journeys are taken across Merseyside - TravelWise Week is an opportunity for everyone to stop and think about how they travel, and to make at least one small change. Whether that’s organising a car share with work colleagues, cycling instead of driving to the train station or even just walking to the newsagent one morning, one change can make a big difference to our health and personal wellbeing – and there’s a chance to win £100 in high street shopping vouchers too!
For your chance to win one of five prizes of £100 high street shopping vouchers in a FREE PRIZE DRAW, visit the TravelWise website and indicate which journey you are going to change, or keep a lookout for the TravelWise team who will be at various locations during the week, including Arrowe Park Hospital and Liverpool ONE, inviting Merseyside residents to sign up in person.
Neil Scales, Chair of Merseyside Transport Partnership said, "TravelWise Week is a fantastic initiative which challenges us all to make one small change in order to ensure that the communities we live and work in remain safe, clean and sustainable for the long term. With rising fuel costs, swapping the car for another option such as cycling, walking or catching the bus or train, can be a great way to save yourself some money. I would encourage everyone to join us in this, and be a part of making TravelWise Week a huge success.”
