Kensington residents are being asked for their views on proposals for a state-of-the-art Neighbourhood Health Centre. Liverpool Primary Care Trust (PCT) has unveiled plans for a new centre at the junction of Edge Lane, Durning Road and Holt Road, which would offer patients an enhanced range of health services.
Existing local surgeries Kensington Park General Practice and Edge Hill Health Centre have expressed an interest in moving there.
An eight-week consultation on the proposals will run from 5 January to 2 March 2011.
The Kensington scheme is part of Liverpool PCT’s wider vision for ‘A New Health Service for Liverpool’, which has seen millions of pounds invested in purpose-built or improved facilities across the city. New developments have already opened in Everton, Breeze Close, Picton, Yewtree, Oriel Drive and Speke, and work is underway in Anfield, Childwall, and Garston and Princes Park.
Local people can contribute their views by clicking here. You download hard copies of the questionnaire by clicking here.
In addition, a mobile exhibition trailer staffed by PCT representatives will be on hand between 9am and 5pm at the following locations: 1
10 to 14 January – Matalan, Wavertree Retail Park, Wavertree Road
24 to 28 January – Netto, Wavertree Road
31 January to 4 February – Lidl Supermarket, Kensington
7 to 11 February – Netto, Wavertree Road
If given the go-ahead, it is estimated that Kensington Neighbourhood Health Centre would be completed by early 2013.
