LINk Neighbourhood Champions announced – now we need Ward and Communications Champions!

05/10/2009

Liverpool LINk aims to be as active as possible at neighbourhood level and so far we’ve successfully recruited Neighbourhood Champions for each of the city’s 5 Neighbourhood Management Areas. They are:

  • Edwin Morgan (Liverpool East)
  • John Roberts (City and North)
  • Mavis Morgan (South Liverpool)
  • Mike Marsh (South Central)
  • Pat Brand (Alt Valley)

If you want to get active in your area or have a local health or social care issue you’d like to raise then contact us and we’ll put you in touch with your Neighbourhood Champion.

If you’re really keen on getting active in the LINk we’re still looking for volunteer Ward Champions and Communications Champions.

Being a Champion will involve:

  • Helping us to identify local health and adult care needs by collecting the views of local residents and feeding them into the LINk
  • Helping us to communicate with local residents and community organisations about health and care issues, including chairing neighbourhood meetings in your area
  • Attending and participating in Neighbourhood events which promote LINk

Training will be provided and you will be supported by the LINk Support Team here at LCVS and by your fellow Champions and other LINk members. Reasonable out of pocket expenses (e.g. travel to and from authorised meetings) will be reimbursed by Liverpool LINk on production of receipts, tickets etc.

If you’re interested, contact us.
