Liverpool LINk has won a prestigious national award
Now in their third year, the Good Scrutiny Awards celebrate accountability and transparency in public services, and recognise the efforts of those who look at the effectiveness of public services.
Liverpool LINk won the award because of our success in creating an open forum on healthcare in Liverpool and ensuring people’s opinions are heard by the key decisions makers in the sector. Our success has led to us to be the largest organisation of our kind in the country with over 2600 members.
Over the last year the LINk team has developed a structure which operates successfully at neighbourhood level and put together a series of training and support sessions which other networks and organisations can benefit from.
Kathy Hull, Service Manager at Liverpool LINk said: “We are really honoured to win this award which is recognition of the team’s efforts over the last year. The LINk has been vital in giving Liverpool residents a stronger voice in how their health and social care services are delivered. I would like to say that this is also a testament to the work of our partners and colleagues have put into developing a positive and effective working relationship regarding Liverpool LINk.”
Councillor Roz Gladden, cabinet member for adult social care and health, said: “Congratulations to the whole team on their success. I know they are doing a great job representing the views of local people and making sure that the voices of residents are heard.”
Gideon Ben-Tovim, Chair of Liverpool Primary Care Trust (PCT) said ‘I'm really delighted at this Award for Liverpool LINK, for LCVS - and for the people of Liverpool! We are pleased if Liverpool PCT’s support has helped. Well done!”
