Personalisation (Self Directed Payments): What is it?

30/07/2010

What is personalisation?

It is the government’s policy for improving social care services. It is developed to get away from people being told what’s good for them, and overlooking what they think will really help them in life. It is a way of giving ordinary people greater control over the social care services they receive, by working out how much money they are entitled to, and giving them a say over what it is spent on.

How can it affect the lives of Mental Health Service Users?
