Grants of up to £2,000 are available through the Community Health Grants Scheme run by Liverpool Primary Care Trust (PCT). The Scheme was established to enable local people to promote health and make a difference within their own communities.
Who can apply for Community Health Grant funding?
The Scheme is aimed at community groups, voluntary sector organisations, schools, nurseries and Children’s Centres within the PCT’s boundaries. Funding is available for organisations to develop new areas of work that have a positive impact on health. The PCT is keen to support projects that demonstrate the involvement of local people, particularly people from Black and minority ethnic communities. New, or small community organisations that want to expand their work to develop health related projects and those who do not have experience of fundraising are also encouraged to apply.
What activities can be funded?
The funding can be used to support a wide range of different activities that have a clear link to health. Initiatives funded by the Scheme so far include:
- promoting physical activity and sport
- addressing social exclusion and isolation
- raising awareness of health issues
- developing culturally sensitive health information
How can we apply?
Grant applications can be submitted at any time. Applicants can expect a response within six weeks of submitting their application. If an organisation is successful in securing a grant from the PCT, they cannot then submit another application within 12 months.
