Liverpool City Council is currently consulting on a Single Equality Scheme. The Scheme and Action Plan, currently in draft form, outline how we will deliver the commitments we made in our revised Equality and Diversity Policy Statement produced in November 2011.
It sets out our proposed equality objectives and what we intend to do over the next year to tackle inequality experienced because of age, disability, gender identity, pregnancy and maternity, race, relationship status, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation, and social and economic status.
It will help us to meet our obligations under the Public Sector Equality Duty and comply with the Equality Act 2010.
In order to ensure our services are inclusive and responsive we want to involve and consult our staff, Councillors, adults and children who use our services, organised employee groups, communities and organisations who represent protected groups.
A full copy of the draft Single Equality Scheme and Action Plan is below and the consultation can be accessed via this link.
Printed copies will also be available in Municipal Building on Dale Street and in the eleven One Stops Shops across Liverpool.
