BRM Civic & Public Engagement Seminar

The BRM Network are delighted to invite you to a ‘BRM Civic & Public Engagement Seminar’ to be held at Crawford House, on Friday March 26th 2010.

2010 is an important year in regard to our Civic rights and responsibilities. The general and local election will occur within next few months and Census 2011 is another Civic engagement in coming year. Both these issues will have a major impact on BRM communities.

This half day seminar is an opportunity to look at our rights and duties in Civic and Public engagement. The event would like to provide a forum for discussing the barriers facing BRM communities to exercise those right and duties. The anticipated outcome is a clear sense of a shared direction and focus for Black and other Racial Minorities (BRM) communities on Civic and Public Engagement.

The aims for the event are:

  • How BRM community can become actively involved on your local communities and 2010 election
  • How the accuracy of Census 2011, can effect BRM Communities
  • How BRM communities can influence local decision makers

Tea & coffee will be available at arrival and the meeting will start promptly at 11.30. The meeting will finish at 1.30 with a lunch. Please reserve your place(s) no later than Friday 19th March at 5pm, by contacting:
